Doyle/McLernan family by Kathryn Garnham from Queensland, Australia
27. June 2012
Hello, I was wondering if any one could help me. I am looking for any descendants of John Doyle b abt 1840 and Mary McLernan/McLernon b abt 1842. They were married on 25/5/1871 in the parish/district of Magherafelt. I believe it was in St. Treas. They had five sons, James, John, Charles, Henry and Thomas. James and John came to Australia in 1888, Thomas arrived in 1907 and Henry and his wife Ellen Murphy and daughter Mary arrived in 1910. Charles married Helen (Ellen) Donaghy. I have found four children in the 1911 census, John James, Hugh Henry, Mary and Britania. I think there were more later. I am a descendant of James and would be interested if any of the descendants of Charles and Ellen who may still be in this parish/area would like to contact me. Regards Kathryn

O'Neill and Bradley ancestors by Peggy from Pennsylvania USA
09. April 2012
Hello, Do you know of anyone in the area who has done O'Neill or Bradley genealogy? My ancestors were HENRY O'NEILL who married SARAH BRADLEY; they were in Scotland by the late 1820s. HENRY had a brother BERNARD who came to America about that same time. Eventually many of HENRY'S family came to America also. They were from the area of Leitrim, Ballyscullion, Co. Derry. I can share information about the family after they left Ireland. If anyone has done family history for O'Neills and Bradleys in your area, I would appreciate a reply by email on how to contact them. Thank you very much, Peggy

Several of their sons and daughters died in infancy-so may also be buried along side . Is it possible to get' these deaths. We know the position of the grave but it is overgrown and we are unable to read the inscription. Thankyou in anticipation

I was lucky enough to pay a visit to my home town of Magherafelt recently and took the opportunity to visit the centre with my oldest friend, Raymond Collins. What a fantastic facility. I sincerely hope and pray that the good people of Magherafelt take the opportunity to visit and support such a wonderful centre on a regular basis. Teas and scones were very tasty. Thank you.

Thanks for your query, if your daughter attends Holy Family PS or New Row PS she just needs to let her teacher know, if not contact one of the priests who will let you know when training for altar servers will next be available.

I'm trying to track down details of my mother who was born and lived in Magherafelt until she went to London to train as a nurse. Her name was Agnes Inez O'Neill. She had 2 brothers, Mick and Eddie who we understand went to live in Belfast after getting married. There is some question as to my mother's exact date of birth, being either 21st or 25th January 1916. Any info would be a big help. Thank you. Please reply to
